The first ever Tangible EdTech Awards were presented at a prestigious Awards Gala Dinner in Cape Town on Wednesday evening 19 November.

Teachers respond positively to WhatsApp Chatbot
In a survey conducted, teachers responded overwhelmingly positively to the Chatbot and CAPS aligned lessons they received during the year. Since February Tangible has been sending free lessons for Grades R to 7, via the Chatbot.

Empowering teachers for the digital age
The Foundation Phase curriculum is “unplugged”, meaning schools do not need computer labs – or even electricity – to get started. Tangible Africa, an engagement project of Nelson Mandela University’s Computing Sciences Department and the Leva Foundation, has been central to the roll-out.

#Coding4Mandela National Winners Announced
147 winning teams from the different July tournaments competed in three age categories, using the brand-new Tangible Tournament app. Each team could play from their school, while results of their Tangible coding solutions were sent to the Tangible Headquarters in Gqeberha.
