The most praised aspects of the Chatbot are its accessibility and efficiency. One teacher noted its significant benefit in rural schools, stating it makes resources "extremely cheap and allows easy access even in rural schools. Furthermore, users appreciate that the Chatbot's "responses are very helpful and quick to get," allowing for effective and efficient lesson planning and resource retrieval.
The Chatbot is clearly successfully serving its primary purpose of distributing lesson plans, being the most common way teachers accessed the lessons ("I click on the link on the weekly message sent out on Whatsapp").
Prof Greyling, founder of Tangible, says that they have taken note of the few suggestions for improvement, which include more streamlined registration and follow-up on enquiries.
“We are now planning for 2026. Some schools have indicated that they would want more physical resources. While we see the Chatbot as our main platform to distribute the lessons, we are looking at cost-effective ways to make physical resources available. We are also exploring the possibility of translating the lessons into some of the other SA languages.”
According to Prof Greyling, especially Foundation Phase teachers can implement the full Coding and Robotics Curriculum by following the Tangible lessons, “and that at the cost of making a printout”.
From the feedback received it is clear that the majority of teachers managed to do the lessons with their learners during class time.
Kelly Bush, who coordinates the Chatbot interaction, has noted a sharp increase in downloads of the lessons during the second semester. From the first to second semester the average access per lesson increased from 500 to 2000.
